November

November is usually a fairly gloomy month, with sunshine way down, usually only at 37% for the month. This is due to frequent frontal passages and occasional coastal system, as the jet stream moves overhead. Average highs fall from the lower 50’s to near 40 F (11 to 4 C), with average lows falling from the lower 30’s to the lower 20’s F (0 to -6 C). Some days may experience highs in the 60’s to near 70 F (lower 20's C) , however, some nights may have single digit F lows, particularly later in the month. In 1951, the temperature fell to a bone chilling –1F (-18C) on November 28th.

Rainfall is frequent due to the above fronts, and occasionally, snow has occurred. About 4 inches (10cm) of snow falls on average, but usually does not last long. Some years no snow falls, and in others, up to 18 inches (46cm) has been recorded.
